New District Lead Volunteer Search – Wolverhampton East Scouts
After 11 years of dedicated leadership as District Lead Volunteer for Wolverhampton East, Darrell ‘Daz’ Parton is stepping down as his term comes to an end. Throughout his tenure, Daz has been instrumental in growing and strengthening the District, providing quality Scouting experiences in excess of 150 members. He has led Wolverhampton East through challenging times, including the pandemic, ensuring that Scouting not only endured but continued to thrive and expand. His final achievement as District Lead Volunteer has been to increase adult volunteer numbers and introduce Squirrels into the District, setting a strong foundation for his successor(s). While his time as District Lead Volunteer has come to an end, Daz’s Scouting journey continues as he takes on the role of Volunteer Development Team Lead for the County.
Thanks for your ongoing support Daz, we look forward to your next chapter!
How Can I Help?
We know that there are many amazing people within Wolverhampton East and the wider community who have the potential to make a real difference. That’s why we’re inviting nominations for the next District Lead Volunteer – someone who can continue to inspire, lead, and support Scouting in the area.
This is your chance to personally contribute to the future of local Scouting by nominating someone you believe would thrive in this role. Whether they are already involved in Scouting or not, your nomination could help us find the perfect person to continue the great work being done.
Who can I nominate?
Self-nominations are encouraged! If you have the leadership, enthusiasm, and vision to drive Scouting forward, why not put yourself forward? If you don’t, you could miss out on a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity.
Nominate someone else who you think has the right skills and passion. You don’t need prior experience in Scouting—our training programme provides full support for both newcomers and existing members of the Movement.
The key qualities we’re looking for are strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to helping young people thrive. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact and help shape the future of Scouting in Wolverhampton East.
