‘The best thing we did was swim in the rain. I wasn’t even sure we were allowed to, but it was brilliant! I mean we were wet anyway, so I guess it didn’t matter too much about the weather.’
Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family. Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends.
Beaver Scouts usually meet once a week in a ‘Colony’ which is run by a trained adult Beaver Scout Leader and Assistant Beaver Scout Leaders or helpers.
Children join a Beaver Scout Colony for many reasons. It might be they have heard great things from their friends about all the things their Colony gets up to every week. Beavers follow a Balanced Programme, earning Challenge Awards and Activity Badges, but the most important parts are joining in and trying their best.
After a few weeks of going to Colony meetings, a new Beaver Scout will make their First Promise, joining the Beaver Scout Section and the Worldwide family of Scouting.
If your son/daughter wishes to join Beavers Scouts, please fill in the form below and someone from your local group will contact you.
