If attendees wish to stay overnight, they should arrange booking accommodation with their County.

There are three skills courses as part of the Leadership and Management Training:

  • Skills of Management
  • Achieving Growth
  • Meeting the Challenges

It’s recommended that where possible learners complete the Skills of Management course first as many of the skills and concepts are built upon in later courses.

Objectives – By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Produce an effective development plan to identify and promote growth in local Scouting.
  • Plan and use effective recruitment techniques.
  • Identify situations where change is needed and apply effective change management techniques to local Scouting situations.
  • Identify opportunities for flexible volunteering and support, and practice this in the recruitment and retention of adult Members.
  • Identify steps to implement their personal action plan.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
